These Terms and Conditions govern all Event Hire bookings and use of The Helm event space at Ground Floor, 126 Margaret Street, Brisbane City QLD 4000. By confirming a booking, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Bookings and Payment

• Event Hire is by enquiry only, via email to [email protected] or the website enquiry form.
• A booking is confirmed once we have issued written confirmation and received both a deposit of 50% of the total hire fee and a refundable security bond of $500.
• The remaining 50% of the hire fee is due 14 days before the event date.
• Bookings made within 14 days of the event date must be paid in full, together with the security bond, at the time of booking.
• If the balance is not received by the due date, we may cancel the booking, and the cancellation terms in section 4 will apply.
• Payment is by bank transfer, quoting your invoice number.
• All prices exclude GST, which is added at 10%.
• Discounted rates are available for registered charities and not-for-profit organisations. Contact us to enquire. No other discounts or promotional rates apply.

2. Rates and Hire Period

• Event Hire is charged at the hourly rate for the day and time of booking, as published at the time of booking.
• The minimum booking is 2 hours.
• Where a booking spans the 5pm rate change, each hour is charged at the rate for that hour.
• Bump-in and bump-out time is charged at 50% of the relevant hourly rate and must be included in your booking.
• You, your guests, suppliers and equipment must leave the space by the end of your booked period. Additional time is charged at the relevant hourly rate, subject to availability.

3. Security Bond

• The $500 security bond is held against damage, excessive cleaning and missing items.
• The bond is returned in full within 5 business days of your event, provided the space is left in the condition in which it was found.
• We may deduct the reasonable cost of any damage, additional cleaning, repair, reinstatement or missing items from the bond, and will give you details of any deduction.
